Summit Missions International is helping the needy of the world. We provide opportunities
for the community to be involved as Ambassadors
of Hope and Help. Here are some of the ways people are
helping.
Warehouse and Office Teams. At our
Tallmadge, Ohio facility
volunteers prepare humanitarian relief for shipment.
Together they sort and box clothes, prepare and pack
shoes, assemble school packs, hygiene packs, or food
packs. Some organize and load containers while others
help transport products to the warehouse. They also
work on mailings or special office and holiday projects
related to SMI.
Short-Term Project Teams. These are traveling teams
that go to various parts of Eastern Europe to complete
special projects. Some of the service projects include
construction, medical programs; youth outreach ministries,
relief distribution and teaching opportunities. Candidates
apply to SMI, raise their travel and project costs
and attend preparatory sessions for their ten-day to
two-week adventure of serving in another country.
Community Project Teams. Friends
of SMI serve as team leaders to organize
their church, youth group, scout group, home school
association
or other organizations to conduct a drive for humanitarian
items. Their objective may be filling a whole shipping
container or simply five-gallon buckets or boxes
of products. Team leaders coordinate their group
to promote,
gather products, obtain sponsors or other special
work related to their project. |

Relief Product Coordinators. Industry, schools, retail stores, wholesalers, manufacturers,
hospitals, and other humanitarian organizations are some of the resources that
generate products for SMI. Relief Product Coordinators represent SMI at their
job, in their community and through their contacts locate useful products for
relief shipments. They are the “eyes and ears” of SMI, actively contacting
suppliers and using some of America’s abundance for the world’s needy.
Hope and Help Financial Partners. Providing tax-deductible donations, these friends
enable Summit Missions International to fulfill its vision of ambassadors of
hope and help to needy peoples who live in the areas served by SMI.
